TimeLine





On August 11 1947 an agreement was signed between the representative of the khan of kalat and future Pakistani leaders Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Mr. Liaquat Ali khan; the very first clause of the agreement declare that the government of Pakistan agree that the Baluchistan is an independent state.


*-The khan of kalat Ahmad Yar Khan the current khan grandfather declared Baluchistan as an independent state from the British colonial power on the August 11. 1947.
*-On the march 27 1948 Pakistan troops had moved into southern costal towns of Pasni and Jawani in Mukran a province of khanate state (Baluchistan).
*- Pakistani authorities take the charge of Baluchistan on April 1. 1948 and appointed a political agent.
*- on April 1948 the prince Abdul Karim the khan of Kalat younger Brother led the first resistance movement against Pakistan’s occupation and the prince resistance was short lived and Pakistan army crushed the movement and prince and his fighters were promised amnesty, but Pakistani did not fulfilled the promises the prince and his comrade were given 18 years sentences and convicted to hard labour.
*- negotiation between the khan of kalat and Pakistan led to establish the union of Baluchistan in 1955-1958 the khan of kalat was the head of union of Baluchistan. The Pakistan general Ayub Khan created one unit of western Pakistan against eastern Pakistan majority votes, (now independent Bangladesh) and breakup the union of Baluchistan and imprisoned the khan of kalat Ahmed Yar khan the current khan’s
 grandfather.
*- in 1958 reaction to the khan of kalat  imprisonment, the Nawab Noruz Khan the head of Zarakzai tribe led much  improved resistance  against Pakistan till 1962. The negotiation between the Nawab and Pakistan led to promises on restoration of union of Baluchistan free the imprisoned khan of kalat Ahmad Yar Khan and withdrew the Pakistan forces from the Baluchistan.  Once the Nawab Noruz khan ceased the fighting his fighters lay down their arms the Pakistani   army moved in and arrested the 91 years old Nawab Noruz khan and his tribesmen including his seven children. His children were hanged and he died in jail.
1963 resistance started and led by the Marri tribe notable Shero Marri and led to 1973 full arm upraising.
