The Baluch are not the Persians, and Baluchistan is not Iran, but an occupied land. Since the invasion, the Persians have imposed their will on the Baluch.
Following an occupation in 1928, Baluchistan has been divided and annexed to the adjacent provinces; Sistan and Baluchistan, Kerman Khorasan, and Hormozgan.
Once again, on 29th May 2021, the Boundary Commission of the Islamic National Consultative Assembly of Iran, in a statement, unveiled a plan to divide Sistan and Balochistan further into four provinces, against the will of the Baluch people.
Iran's political and decision-making structure is based on coercive power; it does not seek people's consent or carry any proper consultation with the people even on such important issues. Therefore it lacks legitimacy.
The plan to turning Baluchistan into four administrative units has been under consideration for some time, but it has not been popular among The Baluch.
In 2017, the interior minister Mr. Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, denied the existence of such a plan, and he said such a plan would be detrimental to the People of Balochistan. The minister clearly did lie, and Tehran always conspired against the Baluch.
Iran wants to turn The Baluch from the majority into the minority in every new administrative unit. Tehran will deny the Baluch access to their land and will turn these administrative units into concentration camps.
The Baluch will reject the partition of Baluchistan for the simple reason that the Baluch is a nation, and Baluchistan belongs to them. The previous division left devastating impacts on the Baluch people's sense of belonging; the past divisions of Baluchistan have deprived the Baluch in Hormozgan, Khorasan, and Kirman and their sense of belonging to the Baluch community.
Their social and economic deprivations are much higher than in Sistan and Baluchistan.
The plan to turn Baluchistan into four Administrative units will destroy the Baluch sense of belonging to a nation and share future.
It will pave the way for non-Baloch domination over the Baloch land, economy, all aspects of life in Balochistan. The Baloch culture, heritage, customs and language, values, and more importantly, the Baluch identity will be the victims of this anti-Baloch plan. This plan accelerates land grabbing and the involuntary displacement of the Baluch people. We urge all Baloch to oppose this wicked plan by all means.
